Postdoctoral Position

The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center
Oklahoma City, OK

 PI: Lauren A. Zenewicz, Ph.D.

A postdoctoral position is available in the Zenewicz laboratory at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Department of Microbiology & Immunology, Oklahoma City, OK. We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to conduct research on the role of interleukin-22 (IL-22) in immune homeostasis and inflammation. IL-22 is an important cytokine in the modulation of tissue responses during inflammation and is dual-natured, having both protective and inflammatory effects. The successful candidate will pursue research to examine the environmental and molecular factors that regulate IL-22 expression in lymphocytes and/or how IL-22 functions in the gastrointestinal tract and liver.

Applicants must hold a recently completed Ph.D., M.D. or D.V.M. (received within last 2 years) and have a strong background in immunology. Excellent oral and written communication skills, organization skills, and demonstrable publication record in the field of immunology or microbiology are required. Experience with multi-parameter flow cytometry and familiarity with standard immunologic, molecular biology and tissue culture techniques is essential. Experience with rodent models is desirable.
