Postdoctoral Position

A postdoctoral position is available in the Applied Immunology Lab (Dr. Guerau-de-Arellano) at Ohio State University (OSU) in Columbus, OH. We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to conduct research on molecular and epigenetic mechanisms that drive inflammatory T cells and macrophages. Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic autoimmune disease of the Central Nervous System promoted by inflammatory T cells and macrophages. The successful applicant will pursue basic and clinical research to understand role of miRNAs and arginine methyltransferases in promoting MS, using conditional KO, proprietary selective inhibitors, patient samples and mouse models of autoimmunity.

Applicants must hold a recently completed Ph.D. (within the last 2 years) and have a strong background in Immunology or Epigenetic mechanisms (in particular miRNA or protein methylation). Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and a demonstrable publication record are required. Experience with Flow Cytometry, in vivo EAE models, tissue culture, and standard immune and molecular biology techniques are desirable.
